1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how FroschCo, LLC, doing business as ShelfMapper (“ShelfMapper,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Service. [TODO before launch: insert FroschCo, LLC registered physical mailing address.]
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use ShelfMapper. The Service is not permitted for anyone under 13.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your place of residence, if higher) to create a paid subscription or to agree to arbitration under the Terms of Service. If you are 13 or older but under 18 (or under the age of majority), you may use free features only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to the Terms on your behalf; you may not purchase Premium or bind yourself to arbitration.
3. Information we collect
- Account information: email address and authentication details (including when you sign in with Google).
- Library content: shelf photos, book metadata you save, map positions, room names, and related settings.
- Usage and billing: plan status, scan/search usage, and subscription events from our payment processor.
- Technical data: approximate device/browser information, IP address, and logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve ShelfMapper, authenticate users, process shelf images, look up book data, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and communicate service-related notices.
5. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run ShelfMapper, such as hosting, authentication, storage, OCR/image processing, book metadata APIs, and payment processing. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and users.
6. Data retention
We retain account and library data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for backups, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. You may delete books, shelves, or your account subject to product capabilities.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
ShelfMapper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. See also Section 2 (Eligibility).
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home country.
10. Your choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. Contact us to make a request. You can also manage marketing preferences where offered and cancel paid subscriptions through the billing portal.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new version ID and dates, add the prior version to the Privacy archive, and send you notice—typically by email to the address on your account, or another notice method we make available in the Service—before the stated effective date.
Updated Privacy Policy terms do not become binding on you merely because you continue using the Service. Instead, we will ask you to affirmatively accept the update (for example, by an in-app acknowledgment) before it applies to you, except where a different process is required by law. Until you accept, the prior version that applied to your account remains in effect. If you do not accept, you must stop using the Service and cancel any paid subscription; we may then restrict or close your account.
