3. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve ShelfMapper, authenticate users, process shelf images, look up book data, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and communicate service-related notices.
4. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run ShelfMapper, such as hosting, authentication, storage, OCR/image processing, book metadata APIs, and payment processing. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and users.
5. Data retention
We retain account and library data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for backups, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. You may delete books, shelves, or your account subject to product capabilities.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s privacy
ShelfMapper is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home country.
9. Your choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal information. Contact us to make a request. You can also manage marketing preferences where offered and cancel paid subscriptions through the billing portal.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new version ID and dates, add the prior version to the Privacy archive, and send you notice—typically by email to the address on your account, or another notice method we make available in the Service. Except where a longer period is required by law, changes become effective on the stated effective date.
